Metallics are everywhere - almost every human loves things that sparkle and shine. Diamonds are a girl's best friend, right?! So let's talk about how to get this trend into your home in a super stylish way. I’m sure you’ve seen metallics hit the runway, beauty scene and home decor categories and they’re super easy to incorporate in your every day since they can be mixed and matched - they have essentially fallen into the “neutral” category! To make myself feel better and feel like I’m truly educating you, there are two different types of metallics; warm metallics that consist of gold, bronze, brass and copper and cool metallics that consist of silver, nickel, pewter and chrome. Now that you have a little background, I have a few simple ideas for you to incorporate this trend into your existing decor without your home looking like a disco. Whether you’re channeling Hollywood glamour or 80’s rock & roll we have you covered!

Hardware
If you want to start small, simply replace your hardware with metallic pulls to transform your pieces instantly without breaking the bank! You can find amazing hardware online, your local home depot or arts and crafts stores. Some of my favorite hardware comes from Hobby Lobby (No, they did not pay me to endorse their company although I totally wouldn’t be opposed). They have every style and theme you could possibly want and have sales often!

Light Fixtures
Bring on the glam! This is another easy way to incorporate metallics into your home! Light fixtures can really be a focal point within a space- hanging pendant lamps or chandeliers can create instant glamour. Anchor these metallic light fixtures by putting other pops or metal in the room like table or floor lamps, mirrors, or fun decor pieces. Long gone is the rule that you have to match your silver and gold - go ahead and get crazy by mixing and matching. As far as artwork goes, I love the idea of a DIY project. It’s a super easy and inexpensive way to commit to a trend you aren't ready to dive head first in to. Grab your friends, some wine and get painting! I have scoured YouTube and found my favorite tutorial. Don’t be scared - there’s an artist inside you somewhere.
